Simple Aquarium

To show you the versatility of Scene-A-Rama products, here are some ideas for making a simple aquarium. For a more realistic and detailed aquarium, see Complex Aquarium Diorama (scroll down). The simple aquarium uses a ShowBox for the outside. Use Desert Sand ReadyGrass Sheets to make rocks for your aquarium and sculpt turtles, clownfish, coral and seaweed and kelp. Use the Project Paints to paint the items and the colorful blue-water background.

Bald Eagle Habitat Dioramas

Make a diorama that uses a different point of view. This bald eagle habitat is viewed from the eagle’s perspective. Sculpt the eagle using the Sculpting Clay and paint it with Project Paints. Build up a mountain and add dead limbs and trees. Use the base and backdrop to paint fish in the stream and a blue-sky surround.

Another Storybook Diorama

This storybook diorama is made with a ShowBox. Sculpt the giant and cut his arm off . Use Project Glue to add the top of his body on the top of the ShowBox and glue the arm underneath the top. Sculpt the beanstalk and Jack and paint all of the parts with Project Paints. Don’t forget to add Jack’s house, where he threw the beans out the window. Add landscaping and soft conifer trees. Paint the horizon with clouds inside the ShowBox and suspend some Puffy Clouds with Project Wire!

Use a ShowBox to create a great state display! Use Project Board to make the cutout of the state (don’t forget to label with your state’s name and your hometown!). Use Sculpting Clay to make flowers, flags and other symbols of your state. Also use photos to help represent these symbols. The dogwood branch in this display was created using a twig from outside and a sculpted dogwood flower. Label the elements of the project.

Use a ShowBox to create this nativity scene. Use materials from the Building & Structures Kit to make the manger and Eastern Star and cover the manger with Foliage Fiber. Sculpt the doves with Sculpting Clay. Use your own figures, sculpt them with Sculpting Clay or use cutouts. Don’t forget to paint the evening scene on the background.

Cave Diorama

Cave Diorama

This diorama was built inside a ShowBox and shows the wonderful inner life of a cave. Build up the inside terrain with newspaper wads and pieces of wet Plaster Cloth. For the formations, roll wet Plaster Cloth into long tubes and attach them to the ceiling to make stalactites. When they are completely dry, apply Casting Plaster around them and allow it to drip to make the stalagmites below.

Who isn’t familiar with the solar system? Ours was built inside a ShowBox and the planets were sculpted from the clay in the Sculpting Kit. Paint the background black and add stars on the background. Label every important part of the diorama. You can make poke small holes in the back, letting the light shine through, giving the impression of shining stars.
